Source: www.panthers.com.auNewly appointed Penrith Panthers captain Luke Lewis and centre Michael Jennings have been selected in the NRL All Stars team for the annual clash with the Indigenous All Stars on February 4th at Skilled Park.
Jennings was voted into the team by the fans, starting in the centre position, while Lewis completed a fantastic week for him personally, selected as one of Wayne Bennett's two coach's picks for the NRL All Stars, and will start from the bench.
Jennings will compete in his third straight All Stars match, again representing the Panthers for the NRL All Stars, while Lewis will be playing in his first clash.
NRL All Stars coach Wayne Bennett believes that Lewis could be key to his side winning their second straight All Stars game.
"Luke Lewis is another very experienced utility player who will give me a number of options," Bennett said.
"He represents everything that is good about the game and deserves a spot in the team."
The pair will go head to head with the Indigenous All Stars in the third Harvey Norman All Stars clash on February 4 at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast. Tickets are still available via Ticketek.

In a statement today, the Panthers said,
"Following a disciplinary meeting today at which Michael Jennings and his manager were present, it has been confirmed Michael will be stood down from tonight's match against the Wests Tigers for disciplinary reasons.
"Michael has also accepted a fine of an undisclosed amount and, in the strongest possible terms, Michael has been told that behaviour of this nature will not be tolerated ever again and he is on his final warning.
"Michael is a tremendous talent and an outstanding young man and it is disappointing to our club our fans our sponsors as well as his teammates that he has let everyone down in this regard.
"Michael expressed extreme remorse and embarrassment at his actions and has promised this will be the last time he will be involved in a matter such as this.
"This press release represents the last public comment the Panthers will be making on the issue."
