Source: www.sydneyroosters.com.auRoosters' youngsters Ben Jones and Anthony Cherrington have both extended their deals at the Club until at least the end of 2012.
Ben Jones, who came through the Club's scholarship program and has been playing in the Toyota Cup competition since 2008 made his first grade debut in Round 25 last year.
In 2009 he has become a regular first grader and is currently playing five-eighth in the absence of Braith Anasta.
Cherrington has been playing first grade since mid-2008 and is one of the Club's local juniors, having played from the age of 12 with the Paddington Tigers.
Both players now join fellow young gun Mitchell Pearce on long term deals as the Club looks to secure its young talent and build for the future.
In last Sunday's game against the NZ Warriors the average age of the team was 21 with the Club looking to develop the young players currently coming through the system.
Recruitment Manager Peter O'Sullivan is excited by the signings which follow a part of the Club's new strategic plan.
"Ben and Anthony are both great young players and part of the Club's strategy moving forward is to develop our own youth as much as possible," said O'Sullivan.
"Both these players have been a part of the Roosters from a young age and it is great that we can make them part of our long term plan."

Source: www.raiders.com.auTough second row forward Ben Jones is the latest player to re-sign with the Canberra Raiders, after agreeing to a new two year deal with the club yesterday.
His decision to remain with the club follows Marshall Chalks re-signing last week, and continues the trend of young Raiders staying in Canberra.
Jones has been a solid performer for the Raiders so far in 2006, and is will look to continue his first grade career with the Raiders until at least the end of 2008.
Currently side lined with a thumb injury Jones is set to make his comeback next weekend, for the Raiders home match against the Wests Tigers at Canberra Stadium.
Originally from Redcliffe in Queensland Jones is a late bloomer when it comes to first grade football, making his NRL debut this year for the Raiders at age 25.
But his rise to first grade has made him a priority for re-signing, and Raiders general manager Don Furner said his form this season has warranted the move from the club.
"Ben is a great player and it's great to have him back on board for another two years," Furner said.
"He has played some great football so far this year so it was imperative that we have him in a Raiders jumper again next season."Jones said he is looking forward to getting back on the park next weekend, and is happy that his future has been settled.
"My thumb feels good and I should be ready for the Tigers match," Jones said.
"I am very happy to be remaining with the Raiders, and I look forward to the rest of this season and the next two."News sent by:
