Centre Steve Matai has been cleared to play for the Kiwis in the Centenary Test against the Kangaroos in Wellington next Sunday (October 14).
The 23-year-old Manly player, who has a shoulder complaint, has been assessed by the Kiwis' medical staff and given the all-clear to line up at Westpac Stadium.
"We're satisfied Steve is fine to play. He has been thoroughly checked out," said Kiwi coach Gary Kemble.
"At this stage, our only concern is his readiness for this test."Matai assembled with the Kiwis in Auckland on Friday.
The players have mixed media and promotional activities with training in the first two days they've been together.
After strength training yesterday afternoon the whole team visited the Richmond Rovers Rugby League Club last night.
Today captain Roy Asotasi and David Kidwell were joined by new Kiwis Luke Covell, Jeremy Smith ? the Melbourne one ? Chase Stanley(Melbourne) and Fuifui Moimoi for an appearance at the ex-Kiwis' reunion at the Mt Albert Rugby League Club. For Moimoi it was a return to his old club before he moved to Parramatta.
Also attending the reunion were coach and ex-Kiwi Gary Kemble plus assistants James Leuluai (another ex-Kiwi) and Phil Prescott along with team coordinator Sam Panapa, another former New Zealand test player.
Among the former Kiwis present at the reunion were long-time captain Ruben Wiki, Don Hammond, Shane Dowsett, Ray Wilson, Roger Bailey, Don Mann, Bill Snowden, Lyndsay Proctor, Dane O'Hara, John Ackland, Clayton Friend, Shane Varley, Jim Fisher, John Greengrass, John Bray, Brian Campbell, Mike McClennan, Emosi Koloto, Francis Leota, Eddie Moore, Ernie Wiggs, Maunga Emery, Kevin Fisher, Dennis Key, Tony Kriletich, Shane Cooper, Paul Schultz, Bill Schultz, Brian Reidy, Keith Bell, Ray Cranch, Graham Brown, Roy Christian, Jim Edwards, Toa Fepuleai, Tom Hadfield, John Lasher, Duncan Macrae and Alan Reichelmann.
Another group of players from the 2007 squad made an appearance at Stirling Sports at Sylvia Park this morning to promote the Kiwis' range of gear from new apparel sponsor ISC.
The squad has its first field training run at Cornwall Park this afternoon and another one at the same venue tomorrow.
Meanwhile, there has been another change to Australia's line-up for the Wellington test. Cronulla loose forward Paul Gallen, who was in line to make his test debut, is out with a shoulder. He has been replaced by another debutant in Storm back rower Dallas Johnson.

Source: www.manlyseaeagles.com.auManly centre Steve Matai is available for the New Zealand Test side for the October 14 Test against Australia in Wellington, New Zealand but will be unavailable for the Kiwis upcoming tour of England.
Matai has battled injuries throughout the 2007 NRL season and faces a shoulder operation immediately after the Wellington Test.
He will have surgery to repair a cartilage tear and cyst on his right shoulder. Matai also faces a further review of an ongoing neck problem.
Manly expect Matai to face a three to six months recovery period following the operation.
Sea Eagles CEO Grant Mayer said the club has a policy of making players available for international football at every opportunity.
"However, our medical advice is that he needs an operation to ensure he is ready to play in the 2008 season,"> Mr Mayer said.
