Source: www.superleague.co.ukWakefield Trinity Wildcats centre Daryl Millard is facing a two-month lay-off after damaging knee ligaments in last week's 12-8 defeat at Hull FC.
The 25-year-old Fiji international has played all 13 league and cup matches since joining the Wildcats from Canterbury Bulldogs in the winter but will begin his enforced lay-off in Saturday night's Magic Weekend meeting with Engage Super League champions Leeds Rhinos.
Wakefield coach John Kear will switch Paul Johnson, Luke George or Jason Demetriou to cover Millard's absence against the Rhinos at Murrayfield.
"We're sufficiently well covered but he's our top tryscorer so we will miss him," said Kear. "It's just one of those things. There was no malice; it was just an accident.
"He's had the scans and the results and our doctor says it's going to be at least six to eight weeks, but he wants to speak to the consultant before confirming it."
Wakefield have also lost stand-off Paul Cooke with a slight hamstring problem and will be without five members of the side that beat Leeds 28-18 in February.
Millard and Glenn Morrison are injured while Danny Brough, Shane Tronc and Terry Newton have all left the club.
"We've just got to get on with it," said Kear. "They've trained really well this week. If they play as they've trained, they will give themselves a great opportunity. So I'm quite relaxed."
Leeds are likely to be boosted by the return of full-back Brent Webb and second rower Ali Lauitiiti.
Webb missed last week's game defeat at St Helens after suffering neck spasms in training, while Lauitiiti has been unavailable for the last two games with a torn calf. Both have been named in coach Brian McClennan's 19-man squad.

Thee of Wakefield's new signings Glenn Morrison, Daryl Millard and Shane Tronc will make their Wildcats debuts on Sunday - weather permitting.
They are included in the starting line-up for the club's pre-season fixture with Wigan Warriors at the Hearwell Stadium with kick off now at 2:00pm instead of 3:30pm.
As Morrison, Millard and Tronc prepar for their debut matches in Wakefield's colours, the battle to ensure that the Hearwell Stadium pitch is ready for Sunday's pre-season fixture with Wigan Warriors is continuing.
In spite of freezing temperatures that gripped Wakefield, together with the rest of the West Yorkshire region, the Hearwell Stadium pitch is still playable and Groundsman Steve Dutton, together with the club's volunteers, have continued stripping away the frozen snow that has covered the grass.
Francis Stephenson, the Wildcats General Manager and former Wigan player said: "The weather forecast is in our favour and Steve and the volunteers have done a magnificent job clearing away all the snow and ice not just from the pitch but in and around the stadium too."
Most of the pitch clearing has been done by hand so that damage to the playing surface could be kept to a minimum.
Morrison joined the Wildcats from Bradford Bulls while Millard was signed from Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Shane Tronc from North Queensland Cowboys both in Australia's National Rugby League competition.
Two of the Wildcats other signings since the end of last season Terry Newton from Bradford Bulls and Paul King from Hull FC are also in the Wildcat squad, but they will start the match on the bench.
Newton and King played in the Cravendale Challenge game against Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day and Newton has recovered from a minor calf muscle injury in time to be included in the squad against his home-town club.
The Wildcats have named eight interchange players for the game and Head Coach John Kear has opted to include scrum half Danny Brough and prop Richard Moore in that number.
Kear said: "Wigan have already indicated that they will be sending a strong squad to the Hearwell Stadium and we shall be matching them in strength terms.
"After Sunday we will have had games against Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors who are both expected to be among the stronger teams in the Engage Super League this year and this will give us a good idea about where we stand in our preparation programme.
"It will also be another opportunity for one or two of our younger players to experience the intensity of a Super League-style fixture."
The Wildcat squad is: Aaron Murphy; Dale Morton; Sean Gleeson, Daryl Millard, Luke George; Ben Jeffries, Sam Obst; Shane Tronc, Tevita Leo-Latu, Michael Korkidas, Dale Ferguson, Kevin Henderson, Glenn Morrison. Interchange: Danny Brough, Richard Moore, Terry Newton, Paul King, James Davey, Matthew Wildie, Russell Spiers, Kyle Trout
