Morrin re-signs for season 2008
Sat August 11, 2007

The Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs announced today that Brad Morrin had extended his contract with the Club until the end of the 2008 season.

Morrin, the 668th player to represent the Bulldogs in first grade, is a product of the Bulldogs junior rugby league program having played his junior football with the Moorebank Rams.

Morrin, 26, has played 142 club games for the Bulldogs, 24 at NRL level. He made his grade debut in 1999 and his NRL debut in 2005.

Commenting on the signing Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes said, "It's been a tough week for 'Moz' but he has handled himself with class and I hope his re-signing puts a smile on his face.

"Every club needs someone like Moz in their team. He has heart and gives 100% in training and on the field. He is a great club man."

Morrin said, "My dad followed the Bulldogs and they have been my team since I can remember. I consider it an honour everytime I put the Bulldogs jersey on."

Bulldogs CEO Malcolm Noad said, "Brad is hugely popular with everyone at the Club, players and staff alike. He made a mistake last Friday but out of that he has shown great character and I'm pleased he will get his chance to wear the blue-and-white jersey next year."

Morrin suspended for eight matches
Wed August 8, 2007
by Matthew O'Neill
Bulldogs forward Brad Morrin has been suspended for eight matches after being found guilty of biting Parramatta forward Timana Tahu.

Morrin was referred directly to the judiciary after he was charged with contrary conduct.

The penalty means Morrin will be out of action for the remainder of season 2007 even if the Bulldogs make it all the way to the Grand Final as there's only four rounds of the Premiership and a maximum of four finals matches to be played.

Morrin said, "I'm more than embarrassed. In the heat of the moment I did it out of frustration.

"Straight after the game I went and apologised and he accepted the apology and told me not to worry about it.

"I will never do anything like that again."

Former Cronulla forward Chris Beattie was the last player suspended for biting and he received just two matches in 2001 and Brisbane's Peter Ryan in 1994 copped three matches.

Morrin's suspension is the largest received by a Bulldogs player since Jarrod McCracken received eight matches in the 1991 season and ironically seven matches a season later. Steve Mortimer also received eight matches in 1986 and Mark Bugden was outed for a staggering 16 matches the season before.
