Prescott Injury Blow
Wed April 5, 2006
Source: www.wiganwarriors.com

Wigan Warriors have received yet another huge injury blow with the news that promising young prop forward Paul Prescott will today undergo an emergency operation on a detached retina, an injury which may rule him out for the season and could be career threatening.

The 20-year-old missed most of last year with a serious knee injury and was looking forward to this season to establish himself within the first team. Prescott picked up the injury in Sunday's Powergen Challenge Cup win at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, his fourth appearance of the season.

Speaking about the news Head Coach Ian Millward said,

"This is a massive blow to the player and the club. It is a very serious injury and Paul will have an emergency operation straight away. I really feel for the kid, he has really worked hard to get back to fitness and now he has suffered this huge setback."
