South Wales Scorpions have scooped another player from London Skolars and he is set to make his debut on Monday when the Welsh side take on Blackpool Panthers at The Gnoll in Neath (kick-off 3pm).
20-year old Liam Roach, the son of legendary ex-Australian International Front Rower, New South Wales State of Origin legend and current media personality legendary Steve 'Blocker' Roach, will debut for the Scorpions off the bench according to coach Anthony Seibold.
Roach, who has played for Canterbury Bulldogs and Wests Tigers reserve sides in Australia, will add to the current crop of young players of 21 or under. He is of Irish heritage and as such is here in the UK on an Irish passport. He is only the second non-Welsh qualified Scorpions player.
Cardiff-born Curtis Cunningham, who was also acquired from London earlier this month, is also in contention to make his debut. He excelled for the Scorpions in the Cheltenham Nines tournament last week.
Barrie Phillips is set to return but Harri Greville, Jamie Murphy, Geraint Davies and Steve Parry are all in doubt because of injury concerns, as the depth of the squad looks to be tested.
Seibold said: "Blackpool are undefeated so far this season in Co-operative Championship One and are also through to the next round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup where they have a super tie against Leeds Rhinos. They could not have asked for anymore from their squad so far this season.
"I am looking forward to us being able to test ourselves against another of the leading sides in this division. We are in the middle of a really tough run of games but we have shown improvement each week since our big defeat against Hunslet a couple of weeks back, without being able to clinch a result. We know we will need to be at the top of our game this Monday."
Jonny Walker, who plays on the RFL dual-registration rule returns to Blackpool Panthers' squad after playing for Wigan Warriors last week, and his coach Martin Crompton is pleased to have him back as he has challenged his squad to improve on last week's 48-12 win over Doncaster.
He said: "I wasn't that happy with the performance. I felt as though we lost our way a bit, and the discipline was a big factor for us. We were a bit scrappy for the majority of the game, but Doncaster also gave us a very good game.
"Sometimes we've got to put in an ugly performance to get the result, and there's a lot of self-belief in the team at the moment. We've won tough and we've won flashy this year. It's pleasing that we can do that when we need to do, but you want to play that classy football all the time ? even if in reality it is impossible.
"There'll be a few changes from last week, and getting Jonny back is helpful because I'm expecting a big physical challenge from South Wales.
"They've started off very well. They look to be a very tough team to beat, and I'm not expecting anything different on Monday. There's a big motivation for them to beat us as we've still got a 100 per cent record in the league."
General admission for Monday's game costs just £8 for adults, £4 for concessions and is free for children aged 11 and under is accompanied by an adult (maximum two children under 11 free with this offer).

London Skolars are pleased to announce the signing of Liam Roach from the Wests Tigers.
Roach, a prop forward, debuted for the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs NYC Toyota Cup side in 2008 before signing with the WestsTigers NYC in 2009. He also played for feeder club Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers in the NSW State Cup competition.
"Liam was very keen to get over to the UK and get stuck in to pre season and meet his new team mates," commented head coach James Massara. "I like his attitude. He is really making the most of his opportunity so far and is fitting in well with the squad".
Roach is aiming to get his first opportunity to pull on the Skolars shirt against the Quins at the HAC in the ETF Securities Capital Challenge on the 22nd of January.
