Source: www.bulldogs.com.auBen Roberts and Lee Te Maari will both be stood down from first grade this weekend and fined $5000 (half to be suspended) for breaching the Bulldogs' Code of Conduct during an incident at a Cronulla night club on Sunday.
The penalty was determined after both players fronted the Club's disciplinary committee following an independent investigation into allegations raised on radio earlier this week.
Roberts and Te Maari will both be required to play in the Bulldogs NSW Cup Team this weekend.
Toyota Cup halfback Ben Barba has been called in to make his NRL debut as the replacement for Roberts on the bench, a decision is yet to be made on the replacement for Te Maari.
"The investigation revealed that Ben and Lee were guilty of poor behaviour, both players were upfront in admitting to this and they're being punished accordingly," said CEO Mr Todd Greenberg.
"As a Club we hold all our players to the highest of standards and we will continue to work hard to ensure that these expectations are met."
Money from the fines will be invested into the Club's welfare and education programmes.

Emerging talent Aaron Groom has been called up to make his Bulldogs first grade debut. Groom was unable to make the team flight to the Gold Coast this morning but will join the team early tomorrow morning.
Bulldogs latest signing Joe Williams, who signed with the Bulldogs yesterday, met most of his first grade team mates for the first time when he joined them on their flight this morning.
Williams completed his first session with the team when they trained late this afternoon at Skilled Stadium. The Bulldogs completed final preparations and familiarised themselves with the new surrounding, having never played at the brand new home ground of the Titans.
