Giants sign Robinson on three-year deal

Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce that they have signed England International Scrum Half Luke Robinson from the 2008 Super League Season.

The 23-year-old will join the Giants on a three-year deal and Giants Head Coach Jon Sharp is delighted with the signing:

"This is an enormous signing for us, he is without doubt one of the best half-backs in the game and to be able to bring him to Huddersfield is absolutely fantastic. I know he's a player every club in Super League would like in their side, so for him to choose us is massive.

"I'm already extremely excited about seeing him link up with Kevin Brown at half-back. Both players are still in their early 20's but already have a wealth of experience at Super League level. As far as I'm concerned, the Giants now have the future Great Britain half-back pairing.

"He's a fantastic player with all the skills and a great leader. He is also an excellent kicker in open play. On top of that, Luke is a warrior and has the heart of a lion. He's tenacious and blessed with an incredible amount of skill."

Luke Robinson - August Super League Player of the Month

Luke Robinson of the Salford City Reds is the winner of August's engage Super League Player of the Month award.

Robinson, who was recently named in Paul Cullen's England training squad, has produced some scintillating performances which has seen the Salford City Reds close to securing their first ever appearance in the engage Super League Play Offs. For Robinson, the month has seen a Man of the Match performance against Harlequins RL, which included a try, and an additional try and victory over play off candidates Warrington Wolves by one point. The Reds could have made it five points out of six in August had it not been for a last minute Richard Horne drop goal at the KC Stadium.

Robinson however is upbeat about the remainder of the season, "It's been a strange year, but we are now at the business end of the season and we have given ourselves the chance to perform for the first time in the engage Super League Play Offs. It will be a new experience for everyone at Salford, but one we are looking forward to immensely. The award caps off a good month for me and I just hope myself and the club can do ourselves justice in the following weeks."
