The former rugby union player has had an unfortunate run of bad luck with injuries this season but impressed Head Coach Justin Morgan in the first 11 games of the season to secure a spot in the squad for 2008.
Not only is the speedy winger entering into his fourth season with the Red and Whites he will also be undertaking his international duties as he challenges for a place in Scotland's side for this years international fixtures.
Steel said:
"I'm looking forward to getting back to playing it's very frustrating only being able to observe from the sidelines. I'm excited to be part of such a great squad for next year and it's brilliant that the club can attract top quality players like they have done. "Jon is a quality member of the team that has developed as a player since the club got promoted from National League 1. He is an honest and reliable winger that will definitely grow stronger with experience."The club are also delighted to confirm that Senior Academy player Kris Welham is a further addition to the Super League side for 2008. The youngster has been impressing coaching staff for some time and has now been given the chance to join the top flight.

The 26-year-old winger has signed for another action-packed season at Hull Kingston Rovers. Jon who will be entering into his third year of playing for Rovers, has only just recently finished his international duties for Scotland.
Steel said:
