Source: www.souths.com.auRabbitohs forward Luke Stuart has re-signed with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for the 2008 season. The 30-year-old has played 113 NRL games for the Rabbitohs and was the first player to record 100 first grade games for the club since reinstatement to the NRL in 2002.
Stuart has been an invaluable contributor to the Rabbitohs cause for six seasons and Rabbitohs Chief Executive Shane Richardson said he was happy the utility forward had extended his contract at Redfern for another year.
"Luke has been fantastic for the Club ever since we were admitted back into the competition," Richardson said.
"He has been an important player for us again in 2007 and we are very happy that he has agreed to stay with the club for another 12 months. We look forward to Luke playing his part in our successes for the rest of this season and the next."Stuart said he was pleased to have settled his future.
"I'm really happy at Souths and as we have shown on the field this year we are definitely a Club on the move," he said.
"There are a lot of good blokes here and we have got a great coaching staff in place and I'm sure some good weeks, months and years lie ahead for everyone associated with the Club. It's been a pretty good year so far but there is still a lot more to be done, playing finals football with the Rabbitohs has been a big aim of mine ever since I came here.
"Now that my future has been decided I just want to knuckle down with my footy and finish off this season in a great fashion."A veteran of 165 first grade games Stuart sits alongside Shane Rigon and Scott Geddes
as the players who have been with South Sydney since reinstatement to the NRL.

The rebirth of the Rabbitohs began on 7 June, 2006 through a new partnership between Russell Crowe, Peter Holmes a Court and the 8000 Members of the Club.

Source: www.souths.com.auThe South Sydney Rabbitohs would like to clarify their position on Luke Stuart following recent newspaper reports that Stuart would not be re-signed by the Club for next season. The Rabbitohs have offered Stuart a new contract with the Club and negotiations are progressing. The Rabbitohs are confident of re-signing him.
The Club has also announced the contract extension of prop Jaiman Lowe.
Lowe has agreed to terms to a two-year extension of his current contract, meaning Lowe will remain a Rabbitoh until the end of the 2009 season.
"I'm really happy where I am and I'm happy with the footy I'm playing," Lowe said.
"I wanted to stay with the Rabbitohs and I've been playing the footy that warranted me staying so I'm glad that I've got my career sorted out for the next two years."The Rabbitohs have signed Ben Lowe, younger brother of Jaiman, from the North Queensland Cowboys for 2007 and 2008.
Ben, 22, will join the Club immediately, playing for the Rabbitohs feeder Club the North Sydney Bears this weekend.
Ben was selected for the Queensland Country team in 2006 and 2007 and played for the Queensland Residents in 2006. Ben's junior representative honours include selection in the Queensland and Australian under 15s sides in 2000, Queensland under 16s, under 17s and under 19s in 2001, 2002 and 2004 respectively.
Prop forward Michael Greenfield has also rejoined the Rabbitohs for the remainder of the season after spending the first half of the season at the Cronulla Sharks.
Greenfield played six first grade games for the Rabbitohs in 2006.
"We're really happy with the signing of Jaiman, Ben and Michael as we continue to strengthen our squad," Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said.
