Knights sign Zeb Taia from Eels

The Newcastle Knights are proud to announce former Parramatta back rower, Zeb Taia has agreed to terms until at least the end of the 2010 season.

The 22-year-old has been granted a release from the Eels to join Newcastle mid-season and will attend his first training session today.

"He's a second row specialist, can play lock, has good feet and he's aggressive," said Knights Coach, Brian Smith.

"I've watched his progression since he joined Parramatta as an 18 year-old. He's worked his way through the lower grades and has a lot of respect from the other players.

"At the moment we have the opportunity for him to further his future in a hurry because of the extent of our injury list and he could very well find himself in first grade very soon."
