Thaiday adds strike power to Knights
Tue July 11, 2006
Source: www.newcastleknights.com.au

Dynamic fullback, Milton Thaiday will make his First Grade comeback when the Knights host the Storm at EnergyAustralia Stadium, this Sunday at 2.30pm.

Thaiday spent nine weeks on the sideline after suffering ankle ligament damage against South Sydney in Round Nine, before making a successful return in Premier League last weekend against Parramatta.

"It's been a tough couple of months watching from the stands and not being able to contribute," said Thaiday.

"I'm itching to get back out there and enjoy the remainder of the season."

Thaiday is the only change to Coach Michael Hagan's 18 man squad, replacing rookie Nathan Hinton, who has rejoined the Premier League squad.

"Nathan has been outstanding since making his First Grade debut against the Warriors and has every reason to be proud of his achievements," Hagan said.

"Nat has gained a lot from his stint in First Grade and proven he's up to the challenge but Milton's big game experience will be a major asset this weekend."

Sunday is also Kids Free Day at EnergyAustralia Stadium. Parents are reminded numbers are limited and tickets can be redeemed at the Knights Kingdom Supporter Store at the Stadium.

Meanwhile, thousands of supporters are planning to turn out for the Knights annual open training session at the Hunter's Biggest BBQ.

Gates open at 11.45am with a gold coin Sausage Sizzle lunch for the first 2000 people.

Players will be conducting live interviews and autograph signing sessions. Junior coaching clinics are also organised for the day.
