Wigan Warriors made it through to the fifth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup with a 98-4 thrashing of the North Wales Crusaders, but it was the Welshmen who had the last word.
Sam Tomkins ran in six tries in a master class performance, with Thomas Leuluai and Liam Farrell creating the majority of the home sides plays in which they scored.
The heart and effort was there from the North Wales Crusaders, but they were simply outclassed by a strong Wigan side, who's exemplary execution of passes and attacking runs really hurt the defensive line of Crusaders.
Although several of the Warriors' tries came out wide, several line breaks and superb support play to assist really did the damage.
The Crusaders managed to complete their first few sets, but Wigan soon kicked into gear early on. Debutant, Ryan King went over for the first try, with Carmont sending him in at the corner and Tomkins then got his first as he finished out wide.
The full back then got his second before Charnley and King both went in at the left corner, with New Zealander Thomas Leuluai the architect of them both. Farrell then scored his first of the hat trick in what was a great score. Tomkins broke from halfway, weaving in and out of the defence and he set up Farrell who was supporting to touchdown.
The Lancashire side then ran in three more before half time. Tomkins produced a carbon copy of his second, before he later linked up with Tuson and Leuluai for another and youngster Joe Mellor also crashed over from dummy half to finish of the scoring for the half.
The onslaught continued in the second half. Tomkins set up Charnley down the left, who cut inside to finish superbly and then Chris Tuson and Farrell both grabbed further tries within the first five minutes after the restart.
Prescott added another try before Sam Tomkins continued his try scoring spree with a 70 metre break, showing just too much speed as he raced away from covering defenders.
Farrell went over for his hat trick score later, with Charnley racing down the right wing, offloading to Tomkins infield, who's slick one-handed pass fell to Farrell.
Logan Tomkins made it onto the score sheet just after he'd squandered an opportunity, just metres from the line. His brother rounded up Wigan's scoring, with his sixth of the afternoon as he produced another break and ran the length of the field to score.
The second half was an improvement on the first and there were glimpses of exactly what the Wrexham side is capable of. Adam Walsh broke down the left late on, but his kick was taken in by full back Tomkins.
When Walsh attempted another kick through though, the break came and Owain Brown touched down for a try in the delight of the visiting supporters.
Field position for the try was set up by Andy Moulsdale, as he chipped over the Wigan defence on the fourth tackle. The Wigan defence wasn't set and the ball was shifted into space on the right hand side. Adam Walsh was found and looked to be tackle into touch, but he got his kick in, just in time and Brown latched onto it and had the final word on proceedings.

Source: www.superleague.co.ukIn-form Wigan Warriors racked up their third straight Stobart Super League win by running in eight tries to ease past Castleford.
Sam Tomkins scored a hat-trick on his 100th Wigan appearance and Pat Richards contributed 22 points with two tries and seven goals to wreck Castleford's hopes of a first home victory of the season.
The Tigers were 12-0 down after just eight minutes and never looked like winning an emotional game with their head coach Ian Millward on compassionate leave following the sudden death of his 19-year-old son Robbie.
A minute's applause was held before the game in Robbie's memory.
Acting coach Stuart Donlan took charge of Tigers for the first time in his fledgling coaching career in Millward's absence.
Winger Nick Youngquest made his first Castleford appearance of the season having been sidelined with an ankle injury.
Australian centre/back-rower James Grehan, signed from French club Limoux, was named on the bench.
Epalahame Lauaki replaced prop Ben Flower in the only change to Wigan's starting line-up following their 54-16 win at Bradford Bulls. Youngster Tom Spencer took over from Lauaki on the bench.
Wigan looked dangerous from the start and caused Castleford's defence problems by moving the ball wide at every opportunity.
They took a third-minute lead when Sean O'Loughlin scooped up a loose ball to slice through from 25 yards out for the opening try that Richards converted.
The Warriors wasted another golden chance when Brett Finch and O'Loughlin split open Castleford's defence, but Tomkins' pass to the unmarked Richards was forward.
Tomkins quickly made amends when he punished the Tigers for losing possession by side-stepping his way over for an eighth-minute try that Richards again improved.
Castleford rallied and cut the gap to eight points with winger Josh Griffin's sixth try in four games this season.
Wigan were penalised for a high tackle on Rangi Chase 15 yards out before Chase and Richard Owen linked to put in Griffin at the corner.
Castleford's joy was shortlived because Wigan soon stretched their lead to 18-4 when Brett Finch and Jack Hughes sent in Richards, who duly added his third goal.
The Tigers had a let-off when Richards went over again from another Hughes pass but this time it was ruled forward.
With half-backs Chase and Danny Orr prompting tirelessly, Castleford tried to haul themselves back into the game and Ryan McGoldrick was foiled by Finch's try-saving tackle close to the line.
But they fell further behind two minutes before half-time when Tomkins cleverly dummied his way through for his second touchdown that Richards converted to make it 24-4.
The Tigers were soon under the cosh again in the second half.
Tomkins completed his hat-trick by capitalising on Michael's McIlorum's neat kick before bamboozling the home defence once more to put in Richards for his second try.
The one-way traffic continued when slick handling saw Warriors winger Josh Charnley dive over in the corner. Richards spoiled his perfect goalkicking record by missing the difficult conversion.
Little seemed to go right for Castleford who looked out of sorts.
Tigers loose-forward Stuart Jones appeared a certain scorer until he inexplicably looked for support and was hauled down 20 yards from the line.
Wigan then completed the scoring in the last minute when Tomkins put in Charnley for his second.
