Weisner completes Hull KR move
Thu November 23, 2006

Hull Kingston Rovers have completed the signing of utility back Pat Weisner and the 24-year-old Australian non-quota player joins the Robins on a one year contract after being released by Super League club Harlequins at the end of last season.

Weisner spent the last three months of last season at Craven Park on loan from the London club and he has turned that spell into a permanent move to East Hull. He was a try scorer in the Robins National League Grand Final victory over Widnes at the Halliwell-Jones Stadium, Warrington, last month.

He joins Rovers after playing for Leigh, Halifax and Harlequins in this country but is a British passport holder is a current Irish International and he'll report back for pre season training early next week after spending the close season break in Australia.

Speaking from Sydney, Weisner said: "It's great to get the deal done and I'm looking forward to playing for KR again because the back end of last season was something special for me. To play and score in the Grand Final was awesome and I'm definitely up for the Challenge of playing in the Super League for the Red and Whites."

Robins head coach Justin Morgan commented: "Pat made an impact for us on loan last season and I always wanted him to stay here at Craven Park?so naturally I'm happy that he's opted for us because I know he had other options. The good thing about him is that he can play in various positions and as a coach that's the sort of player that anyone would like to have."
