Source: www.newcastleknights.com.auThe Newcastle Knights have revealed another significant addition to their 2008 playing roster, announcing a three year deal with utility forward, Chris Houston.
The St George Illawarra rookie has agreed to terms with the Knights for three years and will wear the blue and red until at least the end of the 2010 season.
"Chris offers plenty as a football player," said Knights Coach, Brian Smith.
"He's 194 centimetres, 22 years of age, he cracked first grade this season and has versatility. He can play from front row back to lock.
"We also feel Chris has a lot to offer off the field.
"He's a very intelligent bloke, very well presented and there are people at the St George Illawarra club who felt he was a potential leader, possibly even captain material."Meanwhile, Smith has named his line up for this weekend's inaugural Knights / Titans clash at Carrara Stadium.
Kade Snowden moves into the starting side for prop, Josh Perry who injured his hamstring in last nights 22-18 win over the Raiders.
George Carmont retains the number 3 for Luke MacDougall and junior halves pairing, Luke Walsh and Jarrod Mullen will continue their reunion on the Gold Coast.
"They've never played together at NRL level before so the fact they did it so well first off is very encouraging."
"There's a real lack of any negative in our team at the moment."
"Just in the last three or four weeks there's been a completely different feel about our preparation and it's a nice buzz at the moment, very nice."KNIGHTS v TITANS
